MICRONEEDLING with SkinPen

The SkinPen is the only FDA cleared medical grade microneedling device and treats the following conditions on the face, neck, and body:

  • Sun Damage (Sun Spots)

  • Age and Brown Spots

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles

  • Stretch Marks

  • Acne Scarring

  • Uneven Skin Tone

  • Large Pore Size

How Does SkinPen Work?

The SkinPen creates thousands of precise micro-injuries or "micro-channels" in the dermis, which stimulates new collagen synthesis without causing scar tissue formation. This technology takes advantage of the skin's natural healing process. When SkinPen makes microchannels in the skin, the skin naturally produces new collagen and elastin in the treatment areas, leading to a fresher skin appearance.

Who Can Use SkinPen?

The SkinPen is safe for all skin types and is safe for all ages, although we recommend the procedure for ages 18 years old or older.

What Should I Expect From My SkinPen Treatment?

Topical numbing cream is typically applied to the treatment area for 15-20 minutes prior to the procedure. The actual procedure typically takes 20-30 minutes depending on the size and number of areas treated and the severity of damage on the skin. While you may have some redness and swelling immediately after the procedure, there is minimal downtime for the patient.

How Many Microneedling Treatments Will I Need?

Every patient is different, but for optimal results we recommend a series of 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. We will work with you for a customized treatment plan based on your particular skin and your goals.

What Is Microneedling With PRP?

PRP or platelet-rich plasma is naturally occurring in the human body and is derived from taking an intravenous blood sample from the client and putting it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets.

Then the platelet liquid concentration is extracted and then lightly massaged over skin during the treatment for it to penetrate into the open channels. Since it is obtained directly from your blood, reactions or complications are extremely rare.

PRP infusion paired with microneedling has been proven to be very beneficial in the healing and regenerative process of the skin following the treatment. PRP is naturally rich in growth factors – these are essential for wound healing, strengthening the skin, improving firmness, promoting collagen production, maintaining elasticity and much more. Although the process microneedling itself promotes growth factor generation in the skin, we can improve the overall results of the treatment and the skin’s capabilities by adding PRP (think of it like the protein smoothie following your intense workout.)

The entire process includes taking the blood sample, extracting the plasma, performing the microneedling portion then placing the plasma into the freshly created channels.
